MANILA, Philippines — More Filipinos, including Filipino-Ukrainian children and their Ukrainian mothers, have arrived in the Philippines over the weekend as fighting continues in the eastern European country, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Monday.
The repatriates arrived in the Philippines in three batches, according to the DFA in a statement.
The first group consisted of four Filipino adults, three Filipino-Ukrainian children, and their respective Ukrainian mothers. They landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Sunday afternoon via a Qatar Airlines flight.
The second group consisting of two Filipino adults, a Filipino-Ukrainian child and his Ukrainian mother, arrived on Sunday evening while the third group of three Filipino nationals from Ukraine’s capital of Kyiv also arrived in Manila on Sunday via a flight they arranged on their own.

“The Philippine Honorary Consulate General in Kyiv assisted the evacuees in traveling from Kyiv to the western Ukrainian city of Lviv, while the Philippine Embassy in Warsaw provided for their transportation, accommodation, and meals in Warsaw,” the DFA said.
“The Embassy also made arrangements for their travel documents and visas, COVID-19 RT-PCR tests, and their eventual flights to Manila,” it added.
