Fil-Can Christmas Songfest voting started
Manila – December 13, 2021: Following the successful online staging of the second annual Fil-Can Christmas Songfest on December 11 in the Philippines and simultaneously on December 10 in Canada, online voting to determine the most popular entry is now open until December 17 at 12 noon Philippines time.
The most popular entry is determined by the highest number of “Likes” recorded on Facebook in viewing the event during the voting period. The Winner has a donation given by the Canadian Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (CanCham) in the name of the winner to a charity in the Philippines chosen by the Winner. All viewers, wherever they may live are eligible to vote and their likes” counted. Access to voting can be registered on CanCham’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/CANCHAMPhilippines.
The annual events feature contributions from Fil-Can associations from provinces in Canada including from British Columbia. New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Quebec, and Saskatchewan with seasons greeting from Manitoba and Ontario.
A special message was delivered online for the event by Canada’s Honorary Consul in Cebu, Ms. Katherine Rivera. Consul Rivera highlighted the shared joy of Christmas and the links between the two countries including between Filipinos in both countries.
Participating Fil-Can Associations in the 2022 event included: Federation of Filipino Canadian Associations of Quebec (FACAQ), Filipino Association of Nova Scotia (FANS), Filipino Canadian Association of Saskatchewan (FILCAS), Filipino Canadian Community of New Brunswick (FCNB), and Philippine Canada Trade Council (PCTC). There are also special messages from our kababayans from the Manitoba Filipino Business Council Inc. (MFBC) and Philippine Chamber of Commerce Toronto (PCCT).
