CanCham Philippines to celebrate Canada Thanksgiving
Manila October 7, 2021 – The Canadian Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (CanCham Philippines) will stream a feature program to celebrate! The program is free and will be available on CanCham’s official Facebook and YouTube page on 9 October 2021, Saturday – 6 PM-7 PM. Canada formally celebrates Thanksgiving on the second Monday in October, earlier than Thanksgiving is celebrated by its southern neighbor, USA.
In announcing the online show, Mr. Julian Payne, President of CanCham said “2021 is continuing to be a tough year following the start of the Covid 19 pandemic in 2020. We have not been able to travel and explore Canada and other places. But while we wait to do so, we can travel, see, and enjoy Canada online and our Thanksgiving show will help you do so. But above all this show is intended to recognize that we have much for which to be thankful.”
Mr. Payne announced that the CanCham show will feature recipes for a delicious feast suited for the Filipino palate from some of the best hoteliers in the Philippines, performances from Canadian local amateur musical groups in BC that draw inspiration from Celtic and folk music, and an exciting virtual tour of Canada. The program will also include greetings from some of the many Filipino-Canadian communities across Canada as well as from distinguished diplomatic representatives in Canada and the Philippines.
