MANILA, Philippines — More than 110 Filipino caregivers will soon be deployed to Israel, according to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on Thursday.
This announcement comes a day after DOLE said it has lifted the deployment ban on the Middle Eastern country.
Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said in a statement that the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration received a total of 208 caregiver contracts for Israel and that work visas of the 23 caregivers were already filed while the applications of 90 others are ready for filling this week.

“Once the visas have been secured, POEA through its government placement branch will proceed with the processing of their overseas employment certificates and other travel documents,” he explained.
Labor deployment to Israel was suspended in light of the Israel-Palestinian conflict last May.

Both parties have agreed to a ceasefire, and “low-level conflicts” were recorded since then, prompting DOLE to lift the ban.
