Globe improves connectivity in Batangas with 8 new cell towers, 84 sites upgrade completed
Globe has installed eight new cell sites and completed at least 84 site upgrades in key locations in Batangas to further improve services to its customers in the province.
Aside from its new cell site installations, Globe has also been ramping up its network expansion since last year. Out of the 84 sites upgraded, 52 locations were improvements to the new standard in mobile data, 4G LTE, from the old 3G network. This is part of the company’s expansion and modernization in the province.
These new site builds and network modernization are expected to bring better call, SMS and data browsing experience for all Globe customers in the province. But for them to enjoy these, they need to update their SIM cards and mobile devices to the new standard of mobile data, which is 4G LTE.
“We encourage our customers in Batangas, especially the ones who are still using the old 3G SIM cards to switch to 5G-ready 4G LTE SIM cards and to upgrade their mobile devices into 4G LTE capable ones now for them to enjoy the difference in mobile experience brought by these network rollouts,” Joel Agustin, Globe Senior Vice President for Program Delivery, Network Technical Group, said.
Agustin added customers in Batangas will keep their old numbers when they switch to 4G LTE SIM cards. If quarantine protocols in their respective areas allow, customers can go to the nearest Globe Store to change their SIM cards for FREE.
