DFA: 31 new COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad

MANILA, Philippines—The Department of Foreign Affairs on Saturday tallied an additional 31 confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) among Filipinos abroad, the agency posted on its official Twitter account.

There are now 9,239 total confirmed COVID-19 cases among Filipinos living outside the Philippines while new the cases were from the Americas, Asia and the Pacific, and the Middle East.

The DFA reported that there were 23 new recoveries in Asia and the Pacific and the Middle East bringing the total number to 5,410 while six new fatalities were also recorded.

A total of 653 deaths have been tallied, with the new fatalities coming from one country in the Middle East.

“The DFA shall continue to keep track of the status of Filipinos abroad and stands ready to assist and facilitate repatriations, whenever possible,” said the DFA on Twitter.
