20 more Filipinos abroad contract COVID-19; no new deaths — DFA
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported on Wednesday 20 new COVID-19 cases among overseas Filipinos, driving the total number of infections to 9,165.
Of the total number of cases, 3,149 are still undergoing treatment while 5,369 patients have already recovered from the respiratory disease.
The DFA reported no new deaths. The number of fatalities remain at 647.
In the Philippines, health officials have so far confirmed 72,269 COVID-19 cases. Of the number, 23,623 have so far recovered while 1,843 have died from the disease.
Globally, over 14.5 million individuals have so far been infected by the new coronavirus, which originated from Wuhan City in China’s Hubei province late last year. More than 607,000 have died from the disease across the world.
