COVID-19 cases among overseas Filipinos breach 5,400-mark
MANILA, Philippines — The number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases among Filipinos abroad breached the 5,400-mark with 13 new cases, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported on Monday.
Data released by the DFA showed that there are so far 5,405 overseas Filipinos who have contracted the disease.
Of the number, 2,803 patients are still undergoing treatment while 2,231 have recovered or discharged from the hospital.
There are 371 deaths reported with one new fatality, according to DFA figures.
Below is the breakdown of the COVID-19 cases among Filipinos across 49 countries and regions as of June 8, 2020:

In the Philippines, health officials have so far confirmed nearly 22,000 COVID-19 cases.
Of the number, 4,530 have recovered while over 1,000 have died.
