DFA: 5,259 Filipinos abroad now have COVID-19

MANILA, Philippines — The total number of COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad is now at 5,259, including 29 new patients, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Wednesday.

Some 39 infected Filipinos overseas have also recovered while seven others died, bringing the tally of recoveries to 2, 205, and fatalities t0 354, according to DFA.

The Middle East/Africa region has the most number of COVID-19 cases among Filipinos with 3,274, DFA said. Meanwhile, there are 834 confirmed coronavirus cases among Filipinos in Europe, and 656 in the Americas.

As for the Asia Pacific region, DFA said there are 495 Filipinos infected with COVID-19.
