17 Pinoys in UK, Ireland contract COVID-19
MANILA, Philippines — Seventeen Filipinos in the United Kingdom and Ireland got sick with COVID-19, Philippine Ambassador Antonio Lagdameo said during the Laging Handa online news conference on Saturday.
Ten of the 17 lived in the United Kingdom and four of them have died but the seven others are in Ireland.
Lagdameo said there were 33 other Filipinos categorized as persons under investigation, among them nurses and health workers.
Lagdameo lauded the 21,000 Filipinos who are working as front-liners in the UK National Health Service and private hospitals.
