MANILA, Philippines — Two Filipino fishermen were confirmed dead after a bridge collapsed in eastern Taiwan, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said Wednesday. 

In a statement, the two were confirmed as Andree Abregana Serencio and Gorge Jagmis Impang. 

Meanwhile, another fisherman, Romulo Ilustrisimo Escalicas Jr., is still missing. DOLE said that search and rescue operation is still ongoing. 

DOLE said that it will assist in the repatriation of the casualties, and will “process all benefits and entitlements arising from the accident.” 

The bridge’s collapse in Nanfangao on Tuesday sent an oil tanker truck falling onto boats on the water below. 

DOLE earlier reported that five Filipinos were injured in the incident. /je
