OWWA releases OFW rebates
MANILA, Philippines — The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWAA) had disbursed more than P10.6 million in rebates for longtime members on the first week of the program’s rollout, said OWWA administrator Hans Leo Cacdac.
The program has so far benefited 4,274 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who have been members for 10 years, have given five or more contributions to the agency, and have not availed themselves of previous benefit from Owwa.
The agency has allotted P1 billion for the program intended to benefit 556,000 OFWs who may claim between P941.25 to P13,177.50, depending on the number of their contributions.
