Filipinos may now get free e-visa to enter 2 Russian areas

MANILA, Philippines — Filipinos may now be granted a free electronic visa to visit Saint Petersburg and the Leningrad Region in Russia starting Oct. 1, the Russian Embassy in the Philippines has announced.

According to the Russian Embassy, the process works as follows:

  1. Fill in an e-visa application form.
  2. Get an e-visa grant notification on the website or by email.
  3. Print out the notification or download it to your mobile device.
  4. Show the notification to a transport company employee.
  5. Show the notification to a Border Service officer at the border crossing point

The Russian Embassy clarified, however, that “entry and exit on an e-visa by means of rail transport is currently unavailable.”

Those who wish to visit the regions through their e-visa can do so by air, naval, automobile, and pedestrian checkpoints.

The Philippines is now one of the 53 countries whose nationals can apply for an e-visa to Russia.
