MANILA, Philippines — The country’s diplomats can now return to their posts in Canada after the tons of Canadian garbage are finally being shipped back after six years, Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. said Friday.

“To our recalled posts, get your flights back. Thanks and sorry for the trouble you went through to drive home a point,” Locsin said over Twitter.

Last May 16, the foreign affairs chief recalled the Philippine ambassador and consuls to Canada after Ottowa failed to meet the May 15 deadline on getting back its garbage illegally dumped from 2013 to 2014 in the Philippines.
