MANILA, Philippines – Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad will embark on a two-day official visit to the Philippines next week, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Thursday.
According to DFA, Mahathir’s first visit to the Philippines on March 6 to 7 was upon the invitation of President Rodrigo Duterte.
DFA said the two leaders will hold a bilateral meeting at Malacañang Palace to “survey and discuss cooperation in the political, economic, and people-to-people spheres, and exchange views on the topics of mutual importance.”
Further, DFA said the Malaysian leader will meet Senate President Vicente Sotto III and House Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo during his visit in the country.
Mahathir’s visit reciprocates Duterte’s visit to Malaysia last July 2018, DFA noted. /kga
