3 Filipinos nabbed in Thailand for raising funds for children’s charity

MANILA, Philippines — Three Filipino women were arrested in Pattaya, Thailand for raising funds for a children’s charity, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced on Thursday.

DFA said the women were detained after conducting a fund-raising in front of a restaurant in Bang Lamung district.

The women reportedly claimed that they represent the Children’s Joy Foundation.

Philippine Ambassador to Thailand Mary Aragon reported that the Philippine Embassy in Bangkok has reached out to the Pattaya police to arrange a visit with the arrested Filipinos.

Aragon added the Embassy will extend necessary assistance to the Filipinos. /ee
