DFA: Filipina tourist missing in Bali since Christmas

MANILA, Philippines — A Filipina tourist has been missing in Bali, Indonesia since Christmas, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said on Wednesday.

The Philippine Embassy in Jakarta said it has filed a “missing person report” for Ella Balmaceda Paaño after her family reported that they lost contact with her since December 25.

Philippine Ambassador to Indonesia Leehiong Wee said Paaño, a resort worker in Coron, flew to Bali last December 22 and was supposed to return to the Philippines on December 28.

However, Paaño’s mobile phone cannot be contacted and her last Facebook post was on Dececember 24.

The DFA said it has also requested the assistance of authorities in Indonesia to locate Paaño.
