DFA: No Filipino casualty in apartment gas explosion in Russia
MANILA, Philippines — No Filipinos were reported hurt when a gas explosion hit an apartment building in Russia on December 31, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said.
In a statement on Wednesday, the DFA said the department got a report that there were no Filipinos among the number of casualties in the blast.
The Philippine Embassy in Moscow, the DFA noted, said that the 10 Filipinos in the area “are all safe and accounted for.”
Meanwhile, Philippine Ambassador to Russia Carlos Sorreta extended the embassy’s condolences to the families and loved ones of the fatalities of the explosion in Magnitogors, which is 1,700 kilometers away from Moscow.
Sorreta also wished for the location of the people who were reported missing following the blast, the DFA added.
