NBI arrests suspects in killing of US Marine officer in 2012
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on Monday announced the arrest of three people involved in the killing of US Marines Major George Anikow.
Arrested in two separate operations on June 12 and 14 in Mandaluyong and Marikina City are Galicano Datu III and Crispin Dela Paz while Jimmy Boy David was arrested for obstruction of justice. David is the uncle of Datu.
Datu and Dela Paz have been convicted by the Makati City Regional Trial Court for a lesser crime of homicide and meted them a penalty of up to six years of prison term plus payment of P375,000 in damages.
The Makati City Regional Trial Court Judge Winlove Dumayas who convicted the two men, however, was dismissed by the Supreme Court for downgrading the case from murder to homicide.
