SAN PEDRO CITY — An Australian diver went missing in a popular diving spot in Mabini town in Batangas province, authorities on Thursday
said.
A report issued by the Batangas police said diver Andrew Kilbride underwent a trimix course, the use of breathing gas in deep-sea
diving, around 5 p.m. on Wednesday, about 200 meters off Barangay (village) Bagalangit.
The diver was about 100 meters deep when the diving instructor, who the police did not name, lost him after about half an hour.
The local police were alerted about the incident only the following day.
A search-and-rescue operation was immediately launched. MARICAR CINCO
