A Japanese destroyer will be arriving in the country for a three-day visit, the Philippine Navy announced on Wednesday.
The JS Amagiri (DD-154) with one patrol helicopter (DH-60J) from the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force will be at the Pier 13 in South Harbor from Feb. 2 to 4, the Navy said in an advisory.
The Armed Forces said the country’s BRP Rajah Humabon (PS11) will meet the Japanese vessel at the vicinity of Corregidor in Manila Bay. A welcome ceremony and a port briefing will follow.
It was recalled that Japan’s biggest warship, JS Izumo, was also in Subic last June 2017 for a goodwill visit.
