Albay to host Asean maritime forum

LEGAZPI CITY — Albay province is hosting the two-day Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) Coast Guard Forum later this month.

Scheduled for Nov. 21 and 22 at Misibis Bay Resort in Bacacay town, the forum is expected to gather 70 delegates, 30 of them from Asean countries, said Joy Tango, spokesperson for the Department of the Interior and Local Government in Bicol region.

Tango said forum participants would discuss maritime issues faced by Asean member nations.

She said that the Asean National Operation Center had decided to hold the forum in Albay, prompting them to reactivate Task Group Legazpi to take charge of preparations.
