Filipino charged with molesting 12-year-old girl in Dubai

A Filipino man working as a security guard in Dubai has been accused of molesting a 12-year-old girl living in his shared apartment.
According to a Khaleej Times report, the girl is his roommate’s daughter, who said she woke up at around 3:30 a.m. when she felt someone groping her.
The girl’s mother was present at the apartment earlier in the night. Both mother and daughter said the accused arrived home drunk and with friends.
After she put her daughter to bed at 1 a.m., “I was working in the kitchen till 3:00 a.m., when I told the flat owner to check on my daughter as I felt the defendant’s friends had left,” the woman said in the report.
When the flat owner saw the man touching the girl, she pushed him out of the room.
The incident was reported to the police and the 37-year-old man is facing trial. Niña V. Guno /ra
