Japan’s biggest warship will arrive in the Philippines on Sunday for a goodwill visit, the Philippine Navy announced Friday.
The helicopter carrier Izumo (DDH-183), Japan’s biggest warship since World War II, will dock in Subic Bay, Navy spokesperson Captain Lued Lincuna said in an advisory.
The ship will be escorted by guided missile destroyer JS Sazanami.
A welcome ceremony and a port briefing will be conducted upon the arrival of the vessels in Subic Bay, Olongapo.
