5,000 Pinoy illegals returning from Saudi
Some 5,000 undocumented overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are expected to be flying home soon after the Saudi government implemented its amnesty program for illegal migrants that will take effect this week.
“We will be setting up centers to process their papers so they could take advantage of the 90-day amnesty program,” Labor Undersecretary Dominador Say told reporters.
He said a team of senior officials of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) had been deployed to facilitate the processing of qualified OFWs in Saudi Arabia so they could avail themselves of the three-month amnesty program.
