CA panel recommends confirmation of 5 diplomats

Five diplomats were recommended for confirmation on Wednesday by a panel of the Commission on Appointments (CA).

The five who got the nod of the CA’s committee on foreign affairs are the following:


1.Eduardo Eco Kapunan Jr. as ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar

2. Buenvenido Villamor Tejano as ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Independent State of Papua New Guinea


3. Abdulmaid Kiram Muin as ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste

4. Evan Pumaren Garcia, Chief of Mission, Class 1 as permanent representative of the Republic of the Philippines to the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland

5. Celia Anna Mallari Feria, Chief of Mission, Class II as ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Portuguese Republic

The recommendation of the committee will be transmitted later to the CA plenary for either approval or rejection. IDL
