Filipino designer in Kuwait to debut in Phoenix Fashion Week

A critically acclaimed Filipino designer based in Kuwait will make his runway debut in the upcoming Phoenix Fashion Week, one of the most revered fashion events in the US.

Resty Lagare, the Kuwait-based haute couture icon, was surprised to find out that he was chosen to display his dazzling creations in the prestigious fashion event.

“I am still in complete shock – kinda on cloud nine! I’ll be in the finale along with famous designers! It means a lot to me, and to be accorded with this humbling recognition is really something. I am still in dreamland and do not want to be disturbed,” Lagare told Kuwait Times.

With two decades of glamorous creations in the Gulf region, Lagare is thrilled to be presenting with prominent fashion icons.“I can feel the adrenaline rush and I am really very excited. I am now rushing every piece I will be taking with me. I am creating and making sure that everything I want will be delivered,” he told the news site. Lagare, who also owns the biggest haute couture shop in Kuwait, divulged that he will soon doll up several Hollywood celebrities in the future.

Lagare will debut his collection alongside other global fashion designers such as Laura Tanzer, Brothers Tailors and Amanda Casarez.

The Pheonix Fashion Week will be held on Oct. 13-15 at the Talking Stick Resort in Phoenix, Arizona.  Gianna Francesca Catolico
