Capping 2-day visit, Duterte pays courtesy calls to top Vietnamese officials

HANOI—President Rodrigo Duterte paid courtesy calls to top Vietnamese officials on Thursday night as he capped his two-day official visit to the country.

He and members of the Philippine official delegation met first with Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc at the Prime Minister’s office.

This was followed by a courtesy call to Nguyen Phu Trong, the general secretary of the central committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

Duterte is expected to leave Hanoi from the Noi Bai International Airport on Thursday night, arriving at the Davao International Airport early Friday morning.

A state banquet was also held in honor of Duterte on Thursday night at the International Convention Centre in Hanoi. TVJ
