A CZECH national wanted for embezzling $400,000 in construction funds in his homeland has been arrested and would be sent home to face criminal charges, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said Tuesday.

Godus Dusan, 60, was arrested in the town of Alcoy in Cebu last Aug. 6, after more than a year of hiding.

BI commissioner Jaime Morente said the foreigner is wanted by Czech authorities for fraud and money laundering, which carries a 10-year prison term.

“We will never allow our country to be a refuge of these undesirable aliens,” Morente said.

Jose Carlitos Licas, chief of the BI’s Fugitive Search Unit, said a district court in Olomouc, Czech Republic, issued an arrest warrant against Dusan in June last year.
