4 HK nationals nabbed in ‘floating shabu lab’ deny drug ties
The four Hong Kong nationals arrested in the 50-meter fish carrier vessel that allegedly served as a “floating shabu laboratory” denied involvement in the complaint filed against them before the Department of Justice (DOJ).
Win Fai Lo, 42; Shu Fook Leung, 49; Kam Wah Kwok, 47 and Kwok Tung Chan, 29 are facing a complaint for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
“They said they have nothing to do with the charge,” the lawyer from the Public Attorneys Office said during Wednesday’s inquest proceeding.
The four Hong Kong nationals opted not to answer the case filed against them by the Philippine National Police-Anti-Illegal Drugs Group (PNP-AIDG) but requested that they be allowed to coordinate with the Chinese embassy for assistance.
They were arrested last July 11 inside the unmarked fishing vessel along the coast of Barangay Calapandayan, Subic, Zambales.
