Stockton, California to celebrate ‘all things Filipino’
SAN FRANCISCO – For the 43rd year, the Stockton, California Filipino community will hold The Barrio Fiesta, with live entertainment and dancing, cultural displays, a fashion show by Filipino designers and, of course, food.
The Barrio Fiesta will take place on August 14 from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 pm at The Filipino Center Plaza, at 6 West Main Street in Downtown Stockton. The event is free and open to the public.
Some of the Filipino agricultural workers who originally organized the event back in the 1960s and ‘70s will be on hand to join in the festivities.
Organizers are seeking vendors for the fiesta, including those who sell food, arts and crafts jewelry, T-shirts, or other items that reflect the Filipino culture. Those who are interested are asked to call 209-466-1416 .
Those who are interested in participating in the celebration as spectators or vendors are invited to visit the event’s website for further details.
