Suspect in Las Vegas burglaries Bernardino Santiago. LVM POLICE

SAN FRANCISCO – Police arrested a Filipino in Las Vegas, Nevada on suspicion of breaking into at least 17 local restaurants and food venues from January this year.

Bernardino Santiago, 45, was arrested June 15 following at least 17 burglaries of local businesses. Santiago would break through doors or enter through the roof to steal cash and equipment.

Santiago was released from prison just six months ago and told police that he immediately started burgling businesses almost every other night if not twice a night. He said he used the stolen money for gambling and drugs.
