Rep. Speier to host town hall for veterans and their families

SAN MATEO, California — Congresswoman Jackie Speier (San Mateo, San Francisco counties) will hold a “no questions barred” Veteran’s Town Hall on Tuesday, September 15 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., at City College of San Francisco’s Multi-Use Building, Room 140, 50 Phelan Avenue, San Francisco.

This event will feature Julianna Boor, director of the Oakland VA Benefits Office and Bonnie Graham, director of San Francisco VA Medical Services, and their staff who will respond to questions about claims and services. Congresswoman Speier will moderate the town hall style meeting. Claim representatives will be on site to update veterans with pending claims.

Speier stated, “My way of saying thanks to our veterans is to hold an open, honest and candid dialogue about disability compensation, education and medical benefits and jobs.”

Speier urged veterans to register for the free town hall to insure a seat.  Register at www.speier.house.gov; or call her district office at 650-342-0300.

Employment opportunities will be discussed by Congresswoman Speier, Mark Leach, a veteran and Business Manager of Local 617; and Patti Pace, Regional Director of NPower.
