Milan promotes Italian language for integration of migrants

THE PHILIPPINE CONSULATE General concluded a two-day consular service outreach in the Veneto region of Italy  in the cities of Mestre and Padua. The mobile team, headed by Vice Consul Helen Anne Sayo, processed 247 passports, 94 notarials, 137 new overseas absentee voter  registrants and 26 other services, bringing a total of 504 services rendered for the two-day outreach. Applicants were also able to process their documents with partner agencies.

Applicants were also able to process their documents with partner agencies.

The City Council of Milan through its project “Integration Access” is promoting the internet platform www.milano. italianostranieri.org to help migrant workers in Milan better integrate into the Italian society.

The project is financed by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies-General Directorate for Immigration and Integration Policies.

Italy’s integration laws create a very tight link between the level of knowledge of the Italian language and renewal and issuance of permit of stay or permezzo di sogiorno.
