Honolulu night of kundiman to call out domestic violence

HONOLULU, Hawaii – This year, the “Annual Kundiman 808” evening of love songs and live art will be dedicated to raising awareness about domestic violence, the Filipino Community Center announced.

In addition, it will keep its tradition of celebrating youth, culture and community building through various art forms such as music, dance, spoken word, storytelling and live art.

The second Kundiman 808 will be held on July 27, 4:30 – 8:30 p.m. at the Filipino Community Center’s Ballroom in Waipahu. It is free and open to the public. Paul Martin will emcee while Seph 1 will deejay.

Performances will be by Tekniqlingz, Kulintronica, Bandalan Doce Pares Association, HI, Faith Pascua, Ozzie Jaramillo & Nikko Magtoto, Ricky Rapanut, Agaton Pasion, Jr., Ashley Galacgac, Ajax Maharlika, Marcus Mateo and AkaVibes.

Live Art/ Art Displays will be presented by Laetitia Marie Mahoney aka Chika, Ramir Belmes and Marc Galacgac.
