MANILA, Philippines – The European Union (EU) expressed readiness Wednesday in assisting the Philippines from the destruction caused by Typhoon “Glenda” (international name: Rammasun).
“The European Union stands ready to assist families affected by ‘Glenda’,” EU said in a statement.
EU ambassador Guy Ledoux said in the statement that a team of echo or humanitarian aid officers in Manila is currently monitoring the situation and assessing the damage of “Glenda.”
Ambassador Ledoux expressed solidarity with the Filipino people during this disaster.
“Glenda” made landfall in the Bicol region Tuesday evening and has battered Metro Manila with strong wins early Wednesday. As of 11 a.m. Metro Manila and nine other areas are still public storm warning signal number 3.
