Vietnam leader in PH for World Economic Forum
MANILA, Philippines – Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung arrived at the Villamor Airbase on Wednesday noon to attend the World Economic Forum being held here for the first time.
Dung will meet with President Benigno Aquino III later in the afternoon at Malacanang Palace where they will have an expanded bilateral meeting and a joint press conference.
He will also attend a wreathlaying event at the monument of Vietnamese President Ho Chi Minh at the Asean Garden in Intramuros, Manila.
The Prime Minister’s visit coincides with widespread anti-China protests in Vietnam. Like the Philippines, Vietnam has been embroiled in a maritime dispute with China over claims of certain parts of South China Sea.
