Fil-Am wins $45K with lucky guess on ‘Wheel of Fortune’

Emilbert de Leon, a nursing assistant from Daly City, California, won the $45,000 grand prize on Wheel of Fortune on March 19 by correctly answering “new baby buggy” based only on two revealed letters.

De Leon’s lucky guess was so startling that show host, Pat Sajak ,jokingly patted him down in “search” of a hidden device.

The San Francisco State University mathematics graduate through several auditions to appear on the show.
