Fil-Am broadcaster Robert Henry dies in Vegas

LAS VEGAS, Nevada — Robert Henry, radio host of the “East-West Show” passed away last Friday, March 14. His show aired live from Las Vegas every Thursday at 1 to 2 p.m.

Henry was the recipient of the Outstanding Community Reporting award in Radio Category during Philippine American Press Club’s Second Plaridel Awards last October.

The Plaridel is given to an individual for his exceptional coverage of issues affecting the local Filipino American community. In the short year and a half that the “East-West Show” aired it provided a unifying spirit by celebrating the diverse cultures within the growing Asian population in Las Vegas and Nevada.

Henry was also board chair of the Filipino American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Nevada. His colleagues in the Chamber said he was a tireless leader in the Filipino American community and will be sorely missed.
