MANILA, Philippines — Ex-Bamban Mayor Alice Guo, or Chinese national Guo Hua Ping, can now shed light on the many questions raised against her following her arrest by authorities in Indonesia, according to Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco.

The Bureau of Immigration (BI), as well as the Department of Justice and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), confirmed Guo’s apprehension in Tangerang City in Jakarta, Indonesia, around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

She is currently in custody of the Indonesian Police at Jatanras Mabes Polri.

The BI added they are anticipating Guo’s return to the Philippines soon.

In a separate statement, Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla said that all legal procedures will be followed to hold Guo responsible for her alleged crimes.
