Bolinao asks Singaporean owners of sunken ship to stop oil spill

The municipal government of Bolinao, Pangasinan, has asked the owners of the sunken ship, MV Harita Bauxite, to immediately stop the vessel’s oil from spilling into the West Philippine Sea to prevent it from causing further damage to coastal communities.

Survivors recount sinking of Burmese ship off Bolinao

When the Burmese cargo vessel, the MV Harita Bauxite, began sinking after 10 p.m. on Saturday, the captain, Win Kyu, blew a whistle and ordered the crew to abandon ship.
