MANILA, Philippines--A 17-year-old Briton has been missing for the past 17 days, and his family is worried that his relationship with a girl from an influential family in Mindanao may be the reason for his disappearance.
Publicist Emmanuel Geslani said he was approached by the boy's parents, David and Vilma Woodhead, for help in finding their son Marc.
Geslani said the Woodheads have already gone to the police but have become desperate since it has been a while since the boy disappeared.
Marc Woodhead may have eloped with a former classmate at the Mahatma Gandhi International School in Paranaque, the publicist said.
But since the girl is believed betrothed, their relationship may be taboo with the girl's family and harm may have visited the British teenager, he added.
