MANILA, Philippines – It’s like having a virtual wallet on the Web.
And Ayannah Solutions, an e-commerce company, seeks to provide just that, especially for Filipinos overseas, by launching Sendah.com, a one-stop shop for sending remittances, mobile load, and gifts to loved ones anywhere in the world.
To qualify, one must be 18 years old and owns a credit card, according to Miguel Perez, Ayannah Solutions CEO.
To guard against identity theft and fraud, Perez assured potential customers that Ayannah was using “internal software technology and business process to minimize this.”
“We’ve really reduced that risk greatly. We’re very strict when it comes to new accounts,” said Perez.
“People don’t want to share their credit card with too many websites, so what we created is a one-stop shop. You don’t need to go to too many websites to do your cross-border transactions,” said Perez.
Perez said they always verified the new accounts together with their malls and telecommunication company partners.
According to the US Federal State Commission, 26 percent of identity theft or stealing one’s personal information is credit card-related.
But having handled transactions for both online and mobile communication networks since 2004, Ayannah Solutions has survived the challenges posed by online fraud, Perez said.
Aside from remittances, Perez disclosed that they would also be setting up utility payment facilities, where consumers could pay their bills like electricity, water, and Internet.
