Filipino dies in chopper crash in Dubai--DFA

MANILA, Philippines -- The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed and named the Filipino fatality in the Dubai helicopter crash.

In a text message, DFA spokesman Claro Cristobal said Diosdado Buhangin, 48, of Southern Leyte, died last September 3 when the helicopter he and six others were riding crashed on an oil rig some 40 miles off Dubai.

Cristobal said the DFA and the Philippine consulate general in Dubai would assist Buhangin's family in the repatriation of his remains.
