MANILA, Philippines—President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo urged prospective overseas Filipino workers to consider welding, automotive, and cellular phone repair works, saying the market for caregivers abroad has been saturated.

"Pina-phase out na natin iyong caregiving kasi sobra na ang supply [We're phasing out caregiving because of over-supply]," Arroyo said in a speech at a job fair for Muslims hosted by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in Pasay City.

"For those of you who can't get jobs in caregiving, try other forms of training like welding, automotive, cellphone repair, the demand abroad is high," she added.
