MANILA, Philippines -- The Department of Foreign Affairs on Monday reiterated its previous warnings to Filipinos bound for Singapore against bringing live bullets or items made from prohibited, illegal, or controlled materials commonly worn by travelling Filipino seafarers as amulets and talismans.
The reminder, which was made through a statement, is in connection with the latest incident involving a Filipino who was found in possession of two live bullets during transit at Changi International Airport.
The DFA said Singapore airport authorities issued a notice of warning against the Filipino and recorded his passport data.
“The traveling public is advised to strictly adhere to the travel restrictions imposed by the Singapore and other governments in this regard,” it said.
Previous incidents of similar nature have been noted in Singapore and Brunei.
