First Posted 08:53:00 02/05/2011

World Boxing Organization (WBO) female super bantamweight champ Ana ?The Hurricane? Julaton (7W-2L-1D, 1 KO) will return to the ring on Feb. 25 to defend her title against Franchesca ?The Chosen One? Alcanter of Kansas City.

Julaton is now training under multi-awarded trainer Freddie Roach. The 30 year old Julaton is Coach Freddie's 28th world champion along with pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao.

Roach was Julaton?s trainer during her first six fights. She then hooked up with Nonito Donaire Sr before reuniting with Roach for her third world title victory against Mexican Maria Elena Villalobos last June 30, 2010.

?The chemistry is not only there, it?s a lot stronger,? Julaton said of her relationship with Roach.

Julaton?s training includes sparring with male boxers including ex-WBC world lt.flyweight champion Rodel Mayol of Mandaue City.

An article posted on the website examiner.com by Dennis Guillermo states that Julaton did five 3-minute rounds with Mayol. In a video posted on the same website, Mayol complimented Julaton after their sparring session. ?Magaling, malakas din,? Mayol said as he wished her good luck.

Alcanter though, is more experienced with 28 fights and once challenged for the WBC version of the title which she lost. Alcanter (18W-9L-1D, 9 KO?s) also faced one of the more popular female boxers of the previous decade, Mia St. John.

The Julaton-Alcanter fight will be held at the Craneway Pavillion, Point Richmond, California.

Julaton?s victories have electrified the Fil-Am community in her home base in California?s Bay Area. She visited her Filipino relatives in Pangasinan July of last year.
