The Vipers of the Pajo National High School are just a breath away from etching their names into the record books of the Shakey's Girls Volleyball League Tournament of Champions.
This, after they made it to the finals of the tournament with a stirring come-from-behind five-set win over former national champions University of St. La Salle yesterday at the University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Gym.
The Vipers of head coach Fr. Rolando T. Manayon came back from a 1-2 set deficit and then leaned on the heroics of spiker Catherine Marquez to eke out the crucial victory that propelled them into the championship game today at the same venue.
They will face two-time champions, powerhouse Hope Christian School.
The 17-25, 25-16, 20-25, 25-17, 15-13 win also kept Pajo's record spotless as it was their third win in as many games following triumphs against Iloilo and Tacloban in the first day of action.
In previous games, Hope Christian took care of Iloilo 24-26, 25-9, 25-10, 25-13 and Tacloban, 25-19, 25-14, 25-12.
