POLICE created a task force that would concentrate on the investigation of the killing of an American, who was found dead in his home barangay Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City on Aug. 26.

Senior Insp. Mariano Natuel Jr., chief of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office (LLCPO), ordered the creation of the Task Force Bujnowski to speed up the investigation of the killing of George Harold Bujnowski, 62.

The task force will be composed of personnel of LLCPO and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Central Visayas (CIDG-7).

PO3 Candido Barenque of Lapu-Lapu City said the US Embassy in Manila has been monitoring the development of the case.

Bujnowski was found dead by his Filipina wife Geneva in a hallway near their room on Wednesday afternoon.

The victim bore seven stab wounds.

Police said they believed that robbery was the motive behind the killing after Geneva reported that P400,000 was missing.
