THE Social Democratic Party (SPD) of Germany, in collaboration with selected Cebu City colleges and organizations, is having an exhibit from Sept. 22-25.
The exhibit ?For Freedom and Democracy? includes a series of lectures.
The exhibit?s opening ceremonies will be held today at 1:30 p.m. at the University of the Philippines Visayas Cebu College (UPVCC) Conference Hall in barangay Lahug, Cebu City.
It will be followed by a forum on ?The Role of Political Parties in Modern Political Systems? by Dr. Franz Seidenschwarz, German Honorary Consul in Cebu.
The following day, Sept. 23, a public forum on the Right to Housing (The German Experience and the Philippine Challenge and the Urban Development and Housing Act Amendments Bill) will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Center on D. Jakosalem Street, Cebu City.
The keynote speaker will be Mirko Herberg, resident representative of Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Philippines.
On Sept. 24, former National Economic Development Authority chief Ben Diokno will speak at the forum about the National Situation at the UP Conference Hall at 1 p.m.
German representatives of Friedrich Ebert Stiftung will guide visitors in going through artworks and documents that describe the German struggle towards social democracy.
The organizations that made the event possible are Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Philippine Office, First Time Voters Network ? Cebu, UPVCC Social Sciences Division, Center for Participatory Governance, Kaabag sa Sugbo and UP Political Science Society, among others.
